Labor Assist

Details

What this service is:

LaborAssist is an exclusive package of labor relations resources from BNA PLUS. Geared specifically toward labor attorneys, management consultants, labor relations managers, and union officials, LaborAssist provides the labor specialist access to BNA PLUS's exclusive collection of databases, reports, and source documents.

What it helps you do:

• Compare provisions from contracts within an industry.

• Obtain a picture of a union's financial situation.

• Effectively address labor relations issues facing you today.

• Identify facts and trends affecting organizing and contract negotiation efforts. Compare historical and current earnings figures for union versus non-union workers by state.

Product Structure

LaborAssist is an indispensable research tool composed of the following resources:

• Subscription to LaborPLUS databases on the Web for one year (www.bnalaborplus.com). Allows searching across five labor databases (union elections, work stoppages, contract listings, ULP charges, contract settlement summaries). Subscribers can conduct statistical research at no additional charge (for example, the number of work stoppages in Ohio in 2003). Additional charges apply to view the specific details of a search (employer and union name, location, industry, dates, etc.).

• Copies of the NLRB Elections Statistics Report (mid-year and year-end). Summarizes NLRB activity and provides statistical snapshots of elections by union affiliation, industry, state, unit size and more.

• One copy of the Source Book on Collective Bargaining. Offers statistics and perspective on today's most important trends in collective bargaining.

• One copy of the Union Membership and Earnings Data Book. Provides at-a-glance access to current employment and earnings data for union members as well as non-union workers.

• Choice of four collective bargaining agreements. BNA PLUS has copies of over 5,000 private and public sector contracts for both small and large employers.

• Choice of four LMs, constitutions or bylaws. LMs are union financial reports that include the number of members, membership dues, assets and liabilities, receipts and disbursements, loans and investments, officer and other employee salaries, benefits, contributions, gifts and grants, office and administrative expenses, etc. Constitutions and bylaws are union governing documents.
